A $ 15 million government funding to help BE Perth turnaround

Western Australia (WA) Prime Minister Mark McGowan has announced a new tourism stimulus package that will see the state’s official convention bureau, Perth Business Events (BE Perth), receive funding of AU $ 15 million (US $ 11 million). The goal is to help attract lucrative business events to WA, which will help support the state’s business events, hospitality and hospitality industry.

Speaking at the WA State of the State event on December 1, Premier McGowan announced $ 185 million in funding for Reconnect WA, a multi-faceted program that targets tourists, skilled workers, students international and events.

Premier McGowan said, “Our Reconnect WA package aims to build on what we have achieved in managing the pandemic by providing a safe and vibrant place to visit, work or invest.”

The package also includes a $ 65 million aviation fund for restoring international and interstate air routes that have been disrupted by the pandemic, as well as targeting new routes including Germany, India, China and Vietnam.
