C-Hope Ministries celebrates 4 years of giving to Early County

BLAKELY, Ga. (WTVY) – A community organization is celebrating 4 years of service to Early County.

C-Hope Ministries CEO Darell Alexander says he is proud to see the countless initiatives they have launched since opening in 2018. He says the changes he sees in county life are worth it.

“We found that this town, this community needed people who were in a state of distress in many ways,” says Alexander. “Housing was a problem. The adolescence of our youth was a problem. We have a problem with our elders. So we tried to put plans in place to see what we can do where we are to meet the needs of the community.

Recognizing patterns like this and finding long-term solutions eventually became the core of all C-Hope Ministries activities.

“It gives us the opportunity to know where they are and give them love and just sit back and talk and love a little bit about them,” says Alexander.

Within four years, the organization launched a lawn care service, a food pantry at the Blakely Retirement Home and now a thrift store.

“We want them to have a level of comfort in their own space, and to show them that we love them and to look and see if there’s anything more we can do” , says Alexander.

Alexander says that without the help of his volunteers and his community, the organization would not be where it is.

“Thank you to our community for the support we’ve had so far, and without the community coming together, there’s no way we can do what we do,” says Alexander.

The C-Hope Ministries Thrift Store will open on April 1st and would appreciate any donations to make the store a success.
