NMSR Presents 69th Annual New Melle Festival June 9-11
Admission for the festival – Thursday night is only $2 per person or $1 with a canned food donation. Friday and Saturday are $5 per person and 12 and under are free.
The Festival starts Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for Family Night. The 3rd Annual Little Miss and Mister Pageant will take place in the room at 6:30 p.m. Registration is now open and will close online at noon on Thursday, June 9. Admission to Thursday’s Family Night includes Straatman Feed Agri-Land, Face Painting, Balloon Artists, Magic Show, NMFPD Demonstrations and an Emergency Vehicle Demonstration featuring the Bomb/Swat & Forensics, medical helicopters and more. All activities close at 9 p.m. except rides and carnival grounds close at 10 p.m.
On Friday evening, the festival starts at 6 p.m. and the park closes at 12:30 a.m.; the beer garden will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight. The 69th New Melle Festival Queen Pageant will begin at 7 p.m. Live music from Turning Point from 8 p.m. to midnight on the main stage. The carnival rides will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday begins with the festival parade at 12:30 p.m. This year’s theme is ‘Cartoons’, so invite your friends or organization and enter a parade float for free. (To be entered into the float contest, you must pay a $25 entry fee.) Line up for the parade is at 11:30 a.m. at Daniel Boone Elementary. The courts open at 4:00 p.m. and the baby contest will take place in the NMSR room at 4:30 p.m. Entrants must wear a plain white t-shirt and the contest is for children 0-24 months. The cornhole tournament also starts at 4:30 p.m. in the beer garden. Live music from Just for Fun Productions features Darrin Norris from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and outdoor dancing with live music from Brushville from 8 p.m. to midnight. The carnival rides will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The park closes at 12:30 a.m.
