NEW YORK, October 26, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The most anticipated and celebrated festival of lights, Diwali is back at the world’s largest crossroads, Times Square, NY. Diwali marks the victory of good over evil, of light over darkness.

Our goal this year is to bring the light of positivity into people’s lives, especially as the grim gloom of the pandemic has engulfed us. Through this event, we want to uplift the spirit of the community and share the message of love, unity, inclusion and diversity.

“ShopRite Diwali at Times Square” in association with the non-profit association “Samman for All” presents the rich “Colors of India” through its art and culture in the heart of Times Square on October 30, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. EST.

According to the founder of Diwali in Times Square, Neeta Bhasin, “Understanding different cultures makes us realize that the basic principles of all cultures are the same. However, the difference in expression is what enriches the tapestry of our lives.”

The celebration continues throughout the day into the evening with the traditional Diwali custom of the “Diya (Lamp) Lighting” ceremony on stage which will also be projected on the tallest billboard in Times Square, followed by ‘a catchy musical extravaganza -‘ The Light Up Times Square ‘concert with international singer Jay sean and other artists will entertain people with their hit songs.

Due to its resounding success over the past few years, the festival has also been hailed and recognized by various media as well as the US government as one of the largest Indian festivals outside of India.

This year, Diwali in Times Square has partnered with the nonprofit “Samman for All”. The director of ‘Samman for All’ said, ‘Our goal is to help people lead lives of dignity – a life they can call their own. We want this Diwali to light up people’s lives. “
